Samba (Omar Sy, Jurassic World, Intouchables, Mood Indigo – this year at the SFFF) a Senegalese illegal immigrant who has managed to stay off the books for ten years while closing in on his dream of becoming a chef. When the authorities finally catch up to him, he meets Alice (Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jacky in the Kingdom of Women – this year at the SFFF), a senior executive who has recently undergone a burnout and seeks comfort by volunteering at an immigration center.
