THE THWARTED
(Les Empêchés) by Stéphanie Vasseur & Sandrine Terragno, 2017 - Offshore - 16 minutes - ANIMATION
We are all afraid. Afraid to speak, afraid to disappoint. Afraid for ourselves or for others. Afraid of suffering, changing, losing, winning. We are ashamed, we protect ourselves and keep quiet. LES INDES GALANTES
by Clément Cogitore - 2017 - Les Films Pelléas – 5 minutes
A favorite of the SFFF 2018, we are glad to be able to present it again, as it should, on a giant screen with fantastic sound system. Que la fête commence (Let the party begin)...
The Krump is a street dance born in Los Angeles after the 1995 riots. Through this performance by the best French and Belgium "krumpers" filmed on the set of the Opera Bastille in Paris, Cogitore creates a battle between contemporary urban culture and the 18th century music of Jean-Philippe Rameau. A visual and auditory shock, this unique short was awarded the prestigious 2018 Unifrance Prize.
