REVIEWS
François Ozon's good twin/bad twin thriller puts dull Hollywood twaddle like Fifty Shades Freed to shame with its wild, wanton ride into the subconscious. Prepare for a mindblower. Peter Travers - Rolling Stone
Dark, kinky and twisty with a modernist sheen, "Double Lover" delivers a delightfully messed up cavalcade of erotic hijinks. Colin Covert - Minneapolis Star Tribune
It's like Dead Ringers meets Body Double with a kinky, winking full-frontal Gallic twist. Chris Nashawaty - Entertainment Weekly
I sat on the edge of my seat, clapping with delight every few minutes. Jada Yuan - New York Magazine/Vulture
It's an absolute gem. Ben Croll - TheWrap
What's liberating here is the film's lack of inhibitions, which absolves the guilt without compromising the pleasure. Peter Debruge - Variety
Nothing about this film feels remotely safe. Alan Zilberman - Washington Post

François Ozon's tribute to David Cronenberg and Brian de Palma is an elegant and erotic psychological thriller, with a twist.
Chloé (Marine Vacth), a fragile young woman suffering from chronic stomach pain, falls in love with her psychoanalyst, Paul (Jérémie Renier). Because he returns her affection, Paul puts an end to her therapy and a few months later they move in together. Soon, Chloé discovers that her lover is hiding a twin brother, Louis (Renier), also a psychoanalyst. Intrigued, she secretly starts psychotherapy with Louis...
Spiraling emotional and sexual stakes will push all three of them to extremes, forcing Chloé to take action in order to solve a mystery and save herself.
Crafting a deliriously cinematic web of suspense, shock, eroticism, and power dynamics, writer/director Ozon (Frantz - Mini Fest 2016, Young & Beautiful - SFFF 2014, In the House - SFFF 2013) reunites with two actors whom he previously directed in breakout roles, Marine Vacth (Young & Beautiful) and Jérémie Renier (Criminal Lovers), now helming them through the intense story of a woman venturing into dangerous romance.
Shown with AT NIGHT I DANCE WITH DEATH (La Nuit je danse avec la mort) by Vincent Gibaud.
