CHASSE ROYALE by LISE AKOKA & ROMANE GUERET – 2016, 28 minutes. Angélique, 13, lives in the suburb of Valenciennes. She goes to school during the day and takes care of her brother and sisters in the evening. One day at school, she is asked to audition for a film.
AWARD: Prize for Best Short Film, 2016 Directors' Fortnight, Cannes International Film Festival.

PERIPHERIA by DAVID COQUARD-DASSAULT – 2015, 12 minutes. ANIMATION. A journey into the heart of an abandoned low-income housing project where the wind blows and the dogs roam freely.
AWARDS: Renzo Kinoshita Prize, 2016 Hiroshima International Animated Film Festival - Audience prize & André Martin Prize, 2016 Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy.

MAMAN(S) [MOTHER(S)] by MAÏMOUNA DOUCOURÉ - 2015, 21 minutes.
The family of eight-year-old Aida is thrown into chaos when her father returns from Senegal with a young woman whom he introduces as his second wife. Watch trailer here!
AWARDS: Jury Award (International Fiction), 2016 Sundance International Film Festival - Jury Prize, 2015 Leuven International Short Film Festival - Award for Best International Short Film, 2016 Toronto International Film Festival - Jury Prize, 2016 COLCOA.

APRÈS SUZANNE (AFTER SUZANNE) by FÉLIX MOATI - 2016, 17 minutes. Joachim returns to live with his parents after his first painful break-up. Starring Vincent Lacoste (French Kissers – SFFF 2010, Jacky in the Kingdom of Women – SFFF 2015) and Zita Hanrot (Fatima, SFFF 2016).

JOURNAL ANIMÉ by DONATO SANSONE – 2016, 4 minutes. ANIMATION. Artistic improvisation inspired by international events taken from the pages of the French daily newspaper Libération,  created each day from September 15 to November 15, 2015.

CELUI QUI A DEUX ÂMES (HE WHO HAS TWO SOULS) by FABRICE LUANG-VIJA – 2015 - 17 minutes. ANIMATION.
In the land of the Inuit lived "He Who Has Two Souls." He was as beautiful as a woman and as handsome as a man. He was as sensitive as a woman and as strong as a man. He was as skilled and precise as a woman, and as agile and precise as a man. He hesitated... 
AWARD: Prize for Best Animated Film, 2016 Flickerfest.

AU BRUIT DES CLOCHETTES (WHEN YOU HEAR THE BELLS) by CHABNAME ZARIAB – 2015, 26 minutes.
In Afghanistan, “bachas” are young male prostitutes who dress as girls and dance for men. Saman feels threatened when his master brings a younger boy for him to train.
AWARDS: Best First Fiction Film, 2016 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival - Best Fiction Film, 2016 Tampere Film Festival - Best Screenplay & Special Young Jury Prize, 2016 Aix-en-Provence Tous Courts Short Film Festival - HCA Award, 2016 Odense Film Festival - Prix UniFrance du court-métrage 2016.

CAFÉ FROID (COLD COFFEE) by FRANÇOIS LEROY & STÉPHANIE LANSAQUE – 2015, 15 minutes. ANIMATION.
Saigon, Vietnam. After the death of her mother, a young girl is forced to abandon her studies to take over the family cafe. Facing a radical change of life, loneliness and grief, she gradually loses her bearings.
AWARDS: Special Jury Prize, 2016 COLCOA - Third Prize in the European Competition, 2015 Alcalá de Henares Film Festival.

VERS LA TENDRESSE (TOWARDS TENDERNESS) by ALICE DIOP – 2016, 39 minutes. 
An intimate exploration of love in the suburbs, as viewed by four young men. The film follows a band of young men pacing through a modern city, acting how society and their friends expect “men” to act. Their interior monologues, however, reveal other desires.

While MAMAN(S) [MOTHER(S)] by MAÏMOUNA DOUCOURÉ & VERS LA TENDRESSE (TOWARDS TENDERNESS) by ALICE DIOP both shared the 2017 CÉSAR for BEST SHORT FILM.
