Salluste (Louis de Funès) is a stingy Spanish nobleman who has been exiled from court and sent to collect taxes in the countryside. Blaze (Yves Montand, Wages of Fear - SFFF 2013), his valet, manages to help the overtaxed peasants behind his boss's back. When Salluste decides to resume meddling in the monarch's affairs using Blaze as his henchman, his schemes backfire badly for our immense pleasure!
This 1971 cult comedy by Gérard Oury, very loosely based on Ruy Blas, Victor Hugo's tragic drama, stars the ever handsome Yves Montand and introduces to Sacramento audiences one of France's most beloved comic actors: Louis de Funès. Be prepared, you have never seen a French actor like him!
Shown with Papa, Alexandre, Maxime & Eduardo by Simon Masnay
