César nominated screenwriter JEAN-LOUIS MILESI will present his latest feature co-written with director Robert Guédiguian, The Snows of Kilimanjaro (opening night, Friday, June 15). Milesi, who is also a director, currently lives in Berkeley where he is working on his first English speaking feature, Don’t Give Up the Ghost.
Milesi
is the screenwriter of most of director Robert Guédiguian’s classics, including the joyful working class comedy Marius and Jeannette (Marius et Jeannette, 1997) presented at the SFFF in 2011, and the insightful social drama The Town is Quiet (La Ville est Tranquille, 2000) presented at the first SFFF in 2002. Jean-Louis Milesi also directed several short films and the sensitive feature Lino (2008) presented in 2011 at the SFFF. |

MICK LASALLE has been the film critic for the San Francisco Chronicle since 2002. On the occasion of the release of his latest book, The Beauty of the Real: What Hollywood Can Learn about Contemporary French Actresses, the SFFF has invited LaSalle to choose and present two recent French films starring two of his favorite French actresses: Valéria Bruni Tedeschi (Empty Days) and Isabelle Carré (Romantics Anonymous) both presented on Saturday, June 16 & Sunday, June 17. |

MICHAËL BAROCAS is an award winning director of short films, commercials, music videos and documentaries. His previous short, The Bed by the Window, was selected in over 60 festivals, including the SFFF (2009), and has won many awards. This year we are happy to present his latest short Guet Apens (Trapped). Barocas is currently working on his first feature film. |

RAPHAËL HITZKE is an award winning filmmaker living in Folsom. You may have seen his previous shorts at the SFFF: Jacques, Just a Little Tenderness (2005) and Vive La Food! (2008.) His latest one, Bee, presented this year on Saturday, June 23, won the Best Dramatic Short Award at the 2012 Sonoma International Film Festival. Hitzke is a member of the SFFF Planning Committee. |
