The Erotic Classic Emmanuelle Selected as one Midnight Movie

This year the Festival presents the sexiest Midnight Movies we've ever shown !

We are pleased to announce that the quintessential erotic film, Emmanuelle (1974) will be one of our Midnight Movies this July!

Emmanuelle needs no introduction: it launched the vogue of soft-porn movies of the 1970s! Emmanuelle (one-time wonder Sylvia Kristel) joins her diplomat husband in Thailand, where she will search for physical pleasure in the arms of several partners, men and women. The film is based on a semi-autobiographical novel by Emmanuelle Arsan that was banned for several years in France. After the triumph of the movie, numerous sequels (from Europe, the United States and Asia) followed, none are as good as the original!

On March 8th, 2007 the Sacramento French Film Festival won the Dottie Award for Best Website in the Entertainment, Restaurant and Night Club category! Many thanks to Laurent Auffret who created the wallabout design template that the SFFF website is based on and all the contributors and editors of the website; and thanks to John Downs our webmaster extraordinaire!

Call For Short Films Entries

Since its inception the Festival has featured locally and internationally produced short films. We encourage filmmakers to submit films that meet the following guidelines:

Films must be in French, or deal with some aspect of French language or culture.

The running time of the shorts presented at the SFFF is typically less than 30 minutes.

Films must be in French with English subtitles, or in English.

Films must be received no later than May 1st.

Please submit a copy of your film in NTSC DVD format for our consideration. PAL format may be acceptable. Include your contact information.

Copies sent will not be returned.

Short Films are presented at the Festival in DVD format. If your film is selected you will be requested to send us 2 DVDs, and a synopsis.

You will receive an email notice before May 30th regarding whether or not your film has been selected for inclusion in the SFFF program.
